United States Steel Corporation announced following changes in top management

1. Board of directors have elected president & COO Mr Mario Longhi as a director, and announced that he will succeed chairman Mr John P Surma as chief executive officer effective September 1.

3. Mr Surma will retain the position of executive chairman through Decemebr 31 when he will retire from the company and from the board of directors.

3. Mr David B Burritt will succeed Gretchen R Haggerty as executive VP and CFO and will report directly to Mario Longhi effective September 1st. Haggerty will retire effective August 31st.

4. General Counsel and senior VP Corporate Affairs Mr James D Garraux has informed the company of his plan to retire by the end of 2013 after 34 years with the company.
